I heard about Vera Fertility through the Woman Well podcast with Caitlyn Estess. Caitlyn referred me to Dr. Peterson, and since I live in Minnesota, I was able to connect with her virtually.
We started with a vaginal health test and a gut health test, which revealed a lot of inflammation in my body. From there, Dr. Peterson coached me on nutrition and supplements to bring that inflammation down. Through that process, I was able to recognize just how bloated and uncomfortable I had been feeling on a daily basis — something I hadn’t fully acknowledged before.
Given my secondary infertility and the other symptoms I was experiencing, we decided to pursue an exploratory laparoscopic surgery locally to look for endometriosis. It was found on both of my ovaries. I owe Dr. Peterson so much for guiding me to that point and helping me finally get answers.
Even after surgery, I continued working with Dr. Peterson — monitoring my cycle each month — until we were able to achieve our pregnancy.

I had been dealing with really painful cycles for quite some time, and every doctor I saw wanted to put me on some form of birth control — which wasn’t something I wanted to do. I was so lucky to find Vera Health. From the moment I met Dr. Peterson, her energy was infectious. She was full of joy, excited to dig in, and genuinely ready to figure out what was going on and fix the problem.

I came to Vera because I knew something deeper was going on with my health and wasn’t getting real answers elsewhere. I was being spot-treated here and there, but I wanted a practice that would take a holistic approach and get to the root cause of what I was experiencing.
