Our Team

Originally from Littleton, I left Colorado to study Speech Pathology and Audiology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. How did I find my way to sonography? While in college, I felt passionate about helping women realize their full potential as mothers which led me to volunteer at a non-profit pregnancy center. They were ALWAYS needing more help with their ultrasounds. I started looking into schools and found myself in an amazing hospital-based program in Indianapolis. After graduating school, I went on to work for a Maternal Fetal Medicine department, where I specialized in high-risk gynecology. My areas of focus centered around gynecology oncology, uterine anomalies, endometriosis, and infertility.

It was at this job where I realized my interest in getting to the heart of the issue in women’s health, which is so rare to find in conventional medicine. I became passionate about the role of ultrasound in diagnosing difficult conditions and how underutilized quality imaging is today in clinics around the country.

I have a special interest in the role of ultrasound in endometriosis, which grew out of the common misconception that you can’t see the disease on ultrasound. With an increasing number of studies and technology that’s always advancing, ultrasound is becoming a very effective, non-invasive way to diagnose a wide range of gynecologic conditions, including endometriosis, and I’m so excited to be on the front lines of that right here at Vera.

When I’m not at work, I’m likely attempting to expand my repertoire of homemade skills, such as cooking, sewing, and gardening (still very much a work in progress), or spending time with my family. I also have a huge passion for figure skating and enjoy passing down my love for the sport to the students I teach when I’m not scanning!
